Description

an elven queen, raped by the lord of chaos and now with child, kneels down in the shallow waters of a stream deep in the wood and performs a cleansing ritual, in hopes of removing the evil taint from her unborn children. concept by wren (amira el-hanfy) for the santharian dream.
done in painter 8 and it took a while...
oh, and as described by wren, her race gives off a faint luminescence, and as such she is a light source in this pic, however subtle...

I like it: colors, ladder, an atmosphere, water...(just don't know how to express my expression on english). In my oppinion, the head is a little big. +7/8

ah, i did not include in my description that she is supposed to be generating a bit of her own light, an aspect of the race described by wren. too subtle?

Nice color and mood. Reminds me of classic illustration from the early 20th century. The subjects anatomy is off--but everything is stylized so that's not distracting.

I saw this face thumbnail and just had to come see the painting. What a great face. Superb and perfect. I love the lighting and the details and the feeling of this painting. A few little problems with the anatomy on the figure. A +8 for sure though.
